Bicycle Maintenance has traditionally been an overwhelmingly (cis) male-dominated area. It is our goal to help teach individuals who have been marginalized or intimidated in this setting to be knowledgable and confident working on their bikes. Maya Hardie, SpyHop youth filmmaker, explains this program offers a safe and supportive learning environment fo those who identify as women, trans, or femme.

For three hours on Monday nights, the Provo Bicycle Collective is only open to women volunteers. During these hours, Kira Johnson, an employee at the Bicycle Collective, leads the volunteers through bicycle mechanics and maintenance. Johnson can observe how enjoyable it is to know how to fix a bike.

2020 Impact
While our 2019-2020 Annual Report takes a deep dive into our operations and the impact we have had in the communities that we serve, we also have updated and released our 2020 At A Glance document, which serves as a scoreboard for our goals and achievements for the year. Highlights for 2020 include:
- Volunteers: 363 Volunteers contributed 5,225 hours of labor to our operation
- Donated Bikes: we received 5,213 donated bikes to be refurbished, rehabilitated, or recycled
- Bikes Given To Those In Need: 1,024 children and 358 adults received Goodwill bikes from the Bicycle Collective
- Recycling: 37 tons of metal and 3.8 tons of rubber were recycled and kept out of landfills.

Community Bike Shop
Want to fix your own bicycle? During Open Shop hours, we have up to six workbenches of professional-grade bike tools available for public use. With the guidance of a staff mechanic, even those who have never picked up a wrench before can learn how to repair a flat tire, replace a cable, or even give their bike a full tune-up.

After over a year's hiatus, we brought back volunteering early in the summer. Thank you so much to those of you that have given hours of your time. If you have volunteered with us in 2021, whether it was 2 hours or 50 hours, we want to hear about your experience. We're always looking for ways to improve, and your insight is key to helping us. Please fill out this survey by the end of November.
As encouragement/thanks for filling it out, we'll be giving away three Bicycle Collective t-shirts and tote bags to randomly selected survey-filler-outers.
